by lies & deceit

i shall not live in fear
let us be very clear
that pain from the past
does not last

i walked through woe
been brought low
by lies & deceit
hot coals to my feet

but ALWAYS god was there
showing heavens incredible care
bathing my feet
with waters most sweet

I Know In My Mind

Another beautiful day
& it's time to play
& let God worry about the way
for in his grace we do stay

& if I find
that my life is unkind
I know in my mind
that he has got my behind

so let us not stay

yesterday is when i found
that which will astound
that within me dwells
a soul that did not sell

today i have become
a confidant to some
a papa to two
and a friend to you

tomorrow i will see
all that there is to be
and happy
to be so free

no more will i care if i get it right

i will throw myself on the flames of love
i will accept that gift from above
blackened & burned i will be
but smiling through eternity

i shall laugh at my fears
dance to all the music i hear

someone cares for me
that is joy enough to last eternally

have revealed souls so slender

too much pain

its never enough
no matter how we say it
its just too tough
to believe it one whit

that another wants us
to hold and love us
too much pain
when only memory does remain

of the past we must let go
nothing there but mist
so do not throw
away such beautiful bliss

Of the Souls Pain

the gathering clouds
cast several gray shrouds
and deepened the gloom
to the peak of doom

troubles came unyielding
and there was no shielding
of the souls pain
for all efforts had been in vain

but lo a gentle ray
of the orb that makes day
kissed me upon my face
and lifted me up out of that place

the pieces keen

its an emptiness in me

a void there be

nothing can ever fill it

nor deny it one whit

its a broken heart i have

a heart torn in halve

the pieces keen

and the tears not clean

still a ray of sunshine

is a clear sign

that this trouble will pass

and love will ever last

be rewarded for our plight

another day is conferred

not to be spurred

but taken as a chance

to perfect our dance

to fill all we meet with light

and we just might

be rewarded for our plight

by a day free from fright

but no guarantees are made

for the absence of concern

from the other zillions

i want you to finally see

that i have been everything

i was ever meant to be

that no matter how tall

the fears become my love will not sway

an experience most unbecoming

what a gift is life

a reward given every day

sometimes filled with strife

sometimes full of play

never know what is coming
