for presents to be planted
beneath the holy tree
a little bit of shiny wrapped glee
only so many it would buy
and my heart did fry
for i was to blame
for this christmas shame
but suddenly a new light shone
and i realized it is always known
that no amount of presents
can replace a good parents presence
so god bless us all
from the tall to the small
from over there to over here
for love and hope is always near
